Italian is a Romance language spoken by about 60 million people in Italy, and by another 10 million Italian citizens and descendants in the world. In Switzerland, Italian is one of four official languages, spoken mainly in the Swiss cantons of Grigioni and Ticino. It is also the official language of San Marino, as well as the primary language of Vatican City.
With its roots straight from classic Latin, the Italian language shares a lot of similarities with other Romance languages like Spanish and French. But also our English vocabulary is ‘drenched’ in Italian terms, and preferably the culinary one: cappuccino, vino bianco, limoncello, fettuccine, lasagne, zucchini, mozzarella, tiramisù, etcetera, etcetera…
Mmm... if this alone wasn’t already reason enough to jump into Italian learning...
Our Italian classes will kick start with an introductory course, intended for students with no prior knowledge of Italian.
Outline: easy meetings and greetings, understanding and providing basic personal information, ordering food and drinks, asking and understanding directions. Appropriate attention will be given to correct pronunciation through exercises.
